Activity itinerary

Camellon de los Martires (Pass by)
We will start our tour here, it is one of the most emblematic sites related to the emancipation of Cartagena, located in front of the current Clock Tower, the Pegasos Pier and the Independence Centennial Park, we will pass through the Convention Centre and then we will visit the internal bay. We will make a brief stop at the Letters of Cartagena, a monument made with recycled material of a height of 2.40-2.60 metres and where you can take some beautiful photos to remember your visit. The next stop will be at the Monument to the Old Shoes, then we will stop at the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas, built in 1657 during the Spanish colonial era and where we will have the entrance included with a guided tour. Later we will pass by the side of the Monument to India Catalina to end with a walking tour of the Historic Centre of the city. The entire tour will be carried out in the company of a certified guide.

It suffered constant attacks by the English and French, being the French commander Baron de Pointis who took the castle in mid-1697. We will have the entrance included with a guided tour
Monumento a la India Catalina (Pass by)
A tribute to American roots can be seen in the monument to La India Catalina, a work by the sculptor Eladio Gil. According to legend, Catalina, a warrior who was born in neighbouring Galerazamba. Later she was sold as a slave in Santo Domingo, but Pedro de Heredia brought her to Cartagena as an interpreter in 1533. She is the key character for the beginning of miscegenation in the territories of Cartagena de Indias, by promoting the Spanish settlement.

Torre del Reloj

The Puerta del Reloj or Clock Tower, at the beginning was called Boca del Puente, being the main entrance to the walled city. Its side arches were used as a chapel and an armament room, today they are walkways open to the public. In 1888 the republican style tower with a clock was added.
