The school provides high-level education particularly in modern dance, fine arts, and music, and is known for being the alma mater of BTS's Jimin. Jimin majored in modern dance at Busan High School of Arts and made history by becoming the first student to be admitted as the top of his entire department. He later moved to Seoul to pursue his dream of becoming a K-pop star. Busan High School of Arts not only recognised Jimin's talent and contributions during his time at the school but also honoured him afterwards by awarding him an honorary diploma. Additionally, Jimin has shown continuous support for his alma mater by making several donations. He donated new desks and chairs for all 1,200 students and provided scholarships to students in need, supporting them in various ways
