60 km from Mazatlán, is the Stately Town of Copala. Founded in 1565, Copala is a charming mining town with a rich history linked to the legendary gold deposits. Despite its destruction in 1616 by an indigenous uprising, Copala resurfaced a year later, and today offers a quiet and welcoming environment in the middle of the Sierra Madre mountains. Walking through its streets we will discover the impressive Church of San José, with its neoclassical altar in gold plate and centuries-old paintings. In addition to its historical and cultural importance, Copala is an extraordinary place for observing birds, flora and fauna. THE famous banana pie. To finish the tour of this beautiful Stately Town, we will try the delicious and typical Copala banana pie, accompanied with a delicious coffee or fresh water.
