Open to the public since 1882, the Barcelona Zoo is one of Spain's biggest and busiest zoos. Experience a great day out that's fun for the whole family with a visit that includes seeing animals from all over the world as well as a variety of entertaining shows and attractions.
The zoo was put on the map for housing the world's only known albino gorilla, Snowflake. Although he sadly died in 2003, the zoo has kept his memory alive with extensive efforts to help endangered gorillas by raising awareness and establishing conservation programmes. At the gorilla enclosure, there is a room dedicated to Snowflake where you can learn about his life.
See more than 4,000 animals from over 400 different species, including some native only to Spain, such as the Iberian wolf. Watch in wonder at the playful dolphins during their daily show and cruise around the entire zoo by miniature train. Enjoy a bite to eat at one of many restaurants or picnic areas.
