Overview

Explore Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War with this tour, specially crafted for Australian veterans but open to everyone. Long Tan holds a special place in ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) folklore. On August 18, 1966, D Company, despite being heavily outnumbered, faced a large Viet Cong assault in an intense battle. This trip takes you to a former base and includes visits to the Long Tan Cross, Long Phuoc Tunnels, Horseshoe Hill, the Robert Taylor Museum of Worldwide Arms, and Vung Tau Beach.

- We'll pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 AM. - The tour includes visiting Australia's Nui Dat Task Force Base, the former location of SAS Hill. Not much is left of this camp, but you can see the columns of the main gate up close. The former runway is now a wide street in the local village, and a small area of the Luscombe Airfield is now a football field—a Kangaroo school established by the Australians. - Unfortunately, we can't visit the horseshoe location due to mining activity at the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation. You'll see the Long Tan Cross Memorial, erected in August 1969 in memory of the great battle of Long Tan. - We'll explore the Long Phuoc Tunnels, similar to other tunnel systems in Vietnam.
