The Maa Tarini Temple in Ghatgaon is a famous Hindu Goddess temple dedicated to Maa Tarini. It is said by the local people that the King of Kendujhar was bringing Tarinini Maa from Puri to Kendujhar with a condition that if he turned back then she would not move further.

Locals believe that she gave birth to the twins, Lava and Kusha, at this place. One can find a small shrine, which houses the stone idols of Sita and her sons, which are located in between a natural cavity formed by two treacherous, large boulders, which balance against one another at different angles.
