Locals believe that she gave birth to the twins, Lava and Kusha, at this place. One can find a small shrine, which houses the stone idols of Sita and her sons, which are located in between a natural cavity formed by two treacherous, large boulders, which balance against one another at different angles.

This place is also good for children. This place is crowded in winter. This dam is also known as Chak Dam. The name of the nearest village to this dam is Chaka. This dam is built on a tributary of the Baitarani River. This dam is generally used for irrigation purposes. The height of this dam is 29.50 metres and the length is 135 metres. The literal meaning of Khandadhar is 'sword’s edge' (Khanda – Sword, Dhar – Edge). Speeding water of the Khandadhar Spring falls straight down to the earth at around 500 feet height. The area is spread over 488 hectares in a hilly tract with mixed deciduous and miscellaneous types of forest vegetation. The Badaghagara Waterfall is a waterfall in the Kendujhar district in the Indian state of Odisha. Badaghagara is located at a distance of 11 km from the district headquarters of Kendujhar district. Being a perennial source of water, a dam has been constructed on the downstream side. It is situated at a distance of 5 kilometres on the downstream of Sanaghagara Waterfall. It is a perennial waterfall. The Machha Kandana, a small river, plunges from a height of 60 metres in a single drop. Badaghagra waterfall is located amid captivating surroundings which add to the beauty of the place and make it more alluring. Dense forests covering the waterfall make it a perfect destination for those who wish to spend some time amid natural beauty and also an ideal location for trekking and picnicking.
