6-day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro through the Rongai route:
Day 1: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
- Start at Rongai Gate (1,950 metres)
- Hike through the rainforest
- Reach Simba Camp (2,625 metres)
- Approximate trekking time: 3-4 hours
Day 2: Simba Camp to Kikelelwa Camp
- Trek through moorland
- Ascend to Kikelelwa Camp (3,600 metres)
- Gain elevation and acclimatise
- Approximate trekking time: 6-8 hours
Day 3: Kikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
- Climb towards Mawenzi Ridge
- Descend into a valley
- Reach Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330 metres)
- Spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak
- Approximate trekking time: 5-7 hours
Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut
- Cross the lunar desert of the Saddle
- Ascend to Kibo Hut (4,700 metres)
- Rest and prepare for the summit push
- Approximate trekking time: 5-7 hours
Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and descent to Horombo Hut
- Start early for the summit attempt at Uhuru Peak (5,895 metres)
- Watch the sunrise at the summit
- Descend back to Kibo Hut for a rest
- Continue the descent to Horombo Hut (3,720 metres)
- Approximate trekking time: 11-15 hours
Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
- Descend through the moorland to Marangu Gate (1,860 metres)
- Receive summit certificates
- Celebrate the successful climb
