Aside from days at the beach right within the city, the boulevard’s long, shaded pavement is ideal for morning–sunrise here is spectacular–or evening strolls, a stop at one of the bars and restaurants lining the Malecón, or a bicycle ride in the designated bike lane. Catch a breeze, get a sunset drink, or exercise by walking the Malecón’s length all the way from town to Long Beach. Numerous events are hosted along the boulevard year-round, including Puerto Plata Carnival.
