Itinerary
Day 1
8:00 am- 10:30 am Our guide and driver will meet you at your Chengdu hotel 1st lobby. Then they will escort you from Chengdu city centre to Wolong wild panda research base. Our guide will share you tremendous information about Chengdu, Sichuan cuisine and the pandas.
10:30 am-12:30 English guided tour to visit Wolong wild panda base. This base is the first wild panda rescue and research base in China. As it is at a higher altitude(1700 metres) and further distance from Chengdu than the other 4 panda bases, you can see the active pandas(pandas prefer cold to heat) with the least crowds(most people only visit Chengdu panda base)
12:30-13:30 Lunch at a local restaurant
13:30-17:30 Drive to Siguniang county(3200 metres) and enjoy with the picturesque views on the way. The driving from the panda base to Siguniang county is only 2.5 hours, however, we will stop on the way for the view. We will drive through the highest tunnel in the world(3800 metres) at Mt. Balang.
Overnight at the entrance area of Changpinggou valley
Day 2
8:30 am- 14:00 Catch the tourist sight-seeing bus from Changpinggou Valley ticket office to the entrance in 15 mins. Then, we will explore the Sigula temple, the waterfall, the forest and the lakes all the way to Kushutan area. Totally, we will walk 7 kms in return by the well organised trekking path. The highest place in this trekking is 3470 metres which is much lower than the 3800 metre in Shuangqiaogou valley and Haizigou valley. At lunch time, we will have a simple picnic inside the park.
14:00-18:00 Drive from Changpinggou valley back your Chengdu city centre hotel.
