What you can expect
Itinerary Day 1
At 8:00 o'clock in the morning we are going to visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Then we will visit the temples in Angkor Thom Area such as BayonTemple, Bapoun and the Elephant Terrace…. Then we continue to visit the Ta Promh Temple jungle templewhich was built by king Jayavarman VII (1181-1218). The temple was built in 1186 for dedicating to his mother. Angelina Jolie, Hollywood Film Star, was filmed there for the film “Tomb Raider”.
After lunch at the local restaurant continue our trip to visit the Angkor Wat Temple. Angkor Wat was built by King Suryavarman II (1113 - 1150) to dedicate to God 'Vishnu'. At the end of the tour you will enjoy a buffet dinner with an Apsara Dancing Show at the city restaurant. Afterwards we will bring you back to the hotel in Siem Reap.
Itinerary Day 2
Today, you will drive to the north-east of Siem Reap (130KM) to visit the group of Koh Ker temples, the main one is Pyramid which were built by King Jayavarman IV (928-944). On the way back you will visit O Thmordab “stone Quarry”, where the Khmer ancestors cut the sand stone to build temples in Cambodia.
The temple complex at Koh KOr northeast of Siem Reap, represents the remnants of the capital of the Khmer Empire from 928AD-944AD, a very unique period ion the Age of Angkor. From the time of Khmer capital was first moved to the Angkorarea in the late 9th century, it would remain there for almost 500 years, with one brief interruption. What is known is that in 928AD. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Then you will visit Beng Mealea Temple, which was built at the end of 11th century as a model of Angkor Wat. The temple, Sprawling jungle temple covering over one square kilometre. The temple is largely overrun by vegetation and very lightly tourist, giving it an adventurous, ‘lost temple’ feel. Photographers: trees growing from the broken towers and galleries offer some of the best ‘tree in temple’ shots aside from Ta Prohm.
Constructed in a distinctly Angkor Wat style under the same king that built Angkor Wat, Beng Melea preceded and may have served as a prototype of sorts for Angkor Wat. Thought there are dome lintel and door way carvings, there are no bas-reliefs and the carving are comparatively spare. When the temple was active the walls may have been covered, painted or had frescos. In it time, Beng Melea was at the crossroads of several major highways that ran to Angkor, Koh Ker,Preah Vihear. Back to the hotel finish tour.
