Overview

A perfect start to whitewater paddling, where we concentrate on having fun and learning the basics in a safe and controlled environment. This is a kayaking or packrafting course. Depending on what you choose, you will be awarded either the packrafting or kayaking våttkort grunnkurs certificate on completetion.

On this course you will learn:

– How to navigate a class 2 river
– Safety routines on the river
– Introduction to kayak rolling
– Theory on river currents; hydrology

Duration: 2 x days (approximately 6 hours each day but may be longer or shorter depending on the number of participants)

Available June, July and August ONLY

Includes: Kayak and all equipment (please contact us before the course if you have chosen packrafting and do not have your own packraft), including drysuit or wetsuit; NPF våttkort on completion of the course, free sauna each day after paddling.

  • What's includedWhat's includedFor Kayaking, we supply kayak paddle, wet/dry suit, lifejacket helmet. For pack rafting you are required to bring your own pack raft.

Know before you book

  • Not recommended for travellers with spinal injuries
  • Not recommended for pregnant travellers
  • Not recommended for travellers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travellers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Please bring: 2 x layers of thermals and socks, 2 x towels, swimwear and a warm change of clothes.

Activity itinerary

We teach 2 day "Grunnkors" in river kayaking or pack rafting on one of the many rivers in the area. This will give you the Vått Kort for your choice of Kayaking or Packrafting dependant on your choice of activity.
