Part of a marine park, this island off the east coast of Malaysia is best known for its superb scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities. In addition to a host of tropical fish, lucky visitors may spot other island wildlife such as monkeys and monitor lizards.
Redang Island is also an important conservation site for sea turtles, which nest on the island.
This slice of paradise known as Pulau Redang or Redang Island, is perfect for weekend getaways as it is only a short trip from Singapore. There are flights to Kuala Terranganu from Singapore Changi Airport and KL International Airport. Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines frequent this route. From there, it is a short 40 minute ferry ride to Redang Island.
