Experience the Ultimate Tropical Paradise in Boracay

Those unfamiliar with the sheer beauty that is the Philippines may not know about Boracay – if that’s you, prepare to fall in love.

Oh What a Paradise

Boracay is pretty much the epitome of paradise. Type the name into an image search engine and you’ll be met with stretches of achingly beautiful, blindingly white sand, offset against near-translucent water that gives way to eye-catching turquoise blends that simply beg you to dive in. It’s so stunning here that Travel and Leisure magazine has ranked Boracay as the World’s Best Trip in 2011 and Top Island in 2012.

The island is tiny, just 7 kilometres long and 3 kilometres around. It’s located south of the capital Manila and is regarded as having some of the absolute best beaches found anywhere in the world – so if it’s sun, sand and ultimate relaxation you’re looking for, book your flight to Boracay.

Luxury Resorts on the Beach

Originally a favourite of backpackers, the island’s popularity has caused a number of five-star resorts and hotels to spring up, catering to travellers who like to stay in style. If you want to get right to the heart of the action, head to White Beach for 4 kilometres of pure bliss. Coconut palms line the long stretch of beach, and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and resorts to enjoy while you’re there.

By day this stretch of sand is serene and idyllic, however when night falls the party starts at the various bars around the water, giving holidaymakers the chance to dance the night away.

Adventure & Sports in Boracay

If you’re feeling adventurous, enjoy a parasailing ride or take a ride on a paraw (sailboat). If you’re wanting to enjoy a more authentic Boracay experience, head to Bulabong Beach for warm locals and watersports aplenty.

It’s just a short walk from the more tourist-friendly White Beach and offers a slightly more relaxed environment, with windsurfers and kiteboarders hitting the waves on windy days.

As for what else you can do here (aside from relaxing in one of the world’s most beautiful places), there are plenty of land and water-based activities to enjoy.

Scuba diving, snorkelling, kiteboarding, cliff diving and windsurfing are just some of the ways you can enjoy Boracay, and the tiny size of the island means you can get from place to face on foot. Mountain bikes, motor-tricycles and motorised out-rigger sailing boats (Bancas) can be hired to help you navigate your way from sand to surf and back again.
