So you want to build a snowman eh? While truly spectacular during the festive season, one element of Christmas magic Singapore cannot quite offer us, is a snowy White Christmas. You’ve seen it on TV and in the movies, and one too many Christmas snowglobes. Now it’s time to experience it in real life! After all, you have been good this year right? Santa says you deserve a trip to Winter Wonderland!
The good news is, you don’t have to travel far from home to find snow. We’ve compiled a list of the closest places to Singapore where you can experience the White Christmas you’ve always dreamed of. Ho Ho Ho!

Winter in Beijing
The Chinese capital gets very cold in December, with the average temperature sitting around -1 or -2 degrees Celsius. Aside from being a low-tourist month – so you can typically get affordable accommodation and flights to Beijing in December – it’s likely there will be snowfall here during your Christmas holiday.
Beijing’s many ski resorts open their doors in December, so you can try your hand at skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing. If you’re lucky enough to receive snowfall while you’re there, head to The Summer Palace for spectacular snow views, and don’t miss the Great Wall for elevated views of snowy landscapes.

Snow in Seoul
Like Beijing, Christmas in Seoul is typically dry and bitterly cold, bringing with it plenty of opportunities for skiing, ice skating and snowboarding.
Test your skills at the Grand Hyatt Ice Skating Rink and take the kids to the Korean Children’s Center Snow Sledding Field. You may be lucky enough to find fresh snow on Seoul’s ski fields, but if not there’ll be plenty of artificial powder at places like Konjiam and Star Hill Resorts.

Snowmen in Niseko
Niseko Ski Resort in located in Hokkaido, Japan, and is famous for its Christmas snow. This time of year provides excellent snow conditions which makes for fabulous skiing during the day and night, along with an upbeat party atmosphere. As Japan’s coldest and northernmost island, it receives some of the best snow anywhere in the world.
