"Terrible staff service. I stayed there for 4 nights because I just didn’t want to move my belongings but seemed like the more you stay, the more terrible they are. I don’t know do they have bias only for me or not but I felt it is. As I noticed the guest who only stayed 1 night or short time, They are very welcome and doing good service. "We enjoyed our stay at this ryokan. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and it was a unique experience. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. "This place was so cute and so much fun! It was a very relaxing weekend thanks to the staff and the cats. The establishment is cash only and you pay ¥1,000 yen per day for cat cafe access. Each morning your cat treats are restocked and you are left with a little snack as well to enjoy while playing with the cats. I will admit, the road to the hotel is a little rough, but that is bo flaw to the establishment. The staff are very kind, attentive, and accomodating. The room was also spacious and beautiful. I hope one day I may go back."

"I had a pleasant experience with extremely friendly staff and perfect dinner and breakfast. The indoor and outdoor hot springs in the guest rooms are clean and provide a great view of downtown Yufuin and Mt. Yufu. I was disappointed that the weather on the day I visited was a bit bad, but that definitely makes me want to visit Toshoan again next time."
