"Waranino is heaven on earth. Unlike traditional ryokan, this is utterly modern and beautifully set in a wooded glen. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Someone is always there the moment you need anything. The breakfasts and dinners magnificent! Not only delicious but also plated with the eye in mind on pottery unique to the area. "Terrible staff service. I stayed there for 4 nights because I just didn’t want to move my belongings but seemed like the more you stay, the more terrible they are. I don’t know do they have bias only for me or not but I felt it is. As I noticed the guest who only stayed 1 night or short time, They are very welcome and doing good service. From my opinion I pay money more. Either I stayed only 1 night but I also need fairness not bias. "

"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."

"Location: The hotel is located about 1.6KM (approximately 25 mins walk) from Yufuin Station and food source. Connectivity: WiFi is not available in the room, only in the lobby. Customer Service: Requested for a dinner reservation on the third night of our stay, but got rejected. Requested for two additional pillows, but got rejected again. "We had an emergency with our toddler and had to go to the hospital. The staff were outstanding and helped us every step of the way. This was old school service and we were made to feel like more than just guests. We were made to feel like family. We cannot thank them enough. "

"The room was fine for the price, but the problem was the no staff available for check in (or check out) and a stupid check in "application" that doesn't work properly. This needs to be sorted before this can be recommended to anyone."

"Exceeding expectations. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and requests. The luxury of this place cannot be overstated. Perfectly appointed villa, private en-suite hot springs tub with a view of Yufu mountain and delicious breakfast and dinner spreads served in your villa… not to mention the in villa massages. Totally worth the cost. If you’re planning a trip to Yufuin, this is one of the best places to stay."

"No bathroom!!!!!!! Overpriced tiny room ! It says “ shared bathroom” no only the hot spring room which is for all the residents! A con a rip off. I am going to sue them get a refund. Liars. DO NOT go there!"

"It’s a very small Ryokan. Nothing much around the area. To only enjoy the room and onsen. Basic necessities. Quiet and has lots of greenery. Get to enjoy the traditional feel of a Japanese onsen. Transportation & food not included."

"The tents looks as nice as in the photos, or perhaps even nicer in real life. It's very spacious, cozy, and heating/cooling options were good. The only downside is no connecting-toilet to the tents, so a short walk to the main building is necessary."

Enjoyable stay.

"Comfortable stay at Baien resort and walking distance 10 mins to the lake and shopping trip. Took a taxi from Yufuin station and cost JPY800. We enjoyed our stroll and admiring the autum foliage while walking out to the lake. It has 2 nice private onsens and 1 separate public onsen for male and female. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, staff are friendly. Recommended and enjoyable stay. "

"Quiet location just a short walk from the train station. Superb ryokan experience with modern amenities throughout. If you’re fortunate enough to get a room with a private onsen, you can enjoy all manner of luxury beyond the available public onsen facilities. A great option to spoil yourself, if even for a night or two. "
