"The Pros: The hotel is big, with wonderful mountain and ocean views. Rooms are big. The staff was mostly very courteous. The Cons: Built in the 1980s, the hotel doesn’t appear to have been renovated since then, giving it a “lost in time” feel. Very outdated facilities for charging electronic devices. Beds not comfortable. Food at the restaurant is expensive and mediocre. The hotel is also A LONG WAY from the ferry terminal (50 minutes) and the airport (35 minutes). Without a car, it would not...

"The best experience I’ve had at a hotel in Japan. I have a halal diet and the staff were able to cater for this in the half-board meals provided. The staff in the cafeteria were great and I felt like I had a lovely experience being fussed over (they treated everyone kindly). The front desk staff were great and spoke good English. "A really unique property in a lovely and convenient location, used to dealing with hikers and international guests. Great bath, good breakfast buffet, and pleasant staff who are all eager to help you have a great experience on Yakushima, no matter what you plan to do! I hope I get a chance to go back someday. "

"Had a great stay here. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. The traditional japanese tatami room was nice to experience. Kentaro went out of his way to make us feel at home. We missed a bus that only comes around every 2 hrs and Kentaro appeared out of nowhere in his Van, was like "Hurry get on!" and we chased down that bus. Good times! Thanks Ken!"
