We stayed here on layover from Australia, taking a taxi from Xiamen airport to here (too on this at bottom of review if you are doing the same).
A quirky, fun and interesting place to stay for a night. We had a panda themed room with a couple of cute panda toys on the bed, photo canvases on the wall, slippers a hanging chair and strings of leaves down the circular shower. Each room probably has its own animal theme. Spacious and fairly quiet (the pool wasn't in service, with it being winter maybe & we were too tired to worry about finding out about if it was possible to access the sauna). Breakfast was wide ranging with more of a Chinese theme by surprisingly, although fruit and toast were available too.
Carpet was a little tired, but the room was well equipped with everything we needed, and had complimentary water, tea and coffee. Bed (round! &) quite hard but we slept well - just different.
Top tip - next door (L) is a wonderful restaurant called Szechwan Hot Pot: the staff were so helpful despite us not speaking Chinese (download google translate before you go to help communicate!). You cook own meat&veg in hotpot!!
Another thing to bear in mind: the taxi drivers don't tend to speak English so you really need to hotel name and address written down in Chinese to give them. We ended up at another hotel to start with, who in turn were v helpful getting us to the right place. Having it written down would probably have saved a lot of stress and hassle, when tired.
