Lion hotel stay.

Really nice hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly and the hotel is clean, the only negatives were the bar closed at night so we aware unable to get drinks and the beds were so soft and everytime to moved you felt like you might fall out of them. Could do with some nice new memory foam mattresses.

Hotel right in the centre of town. Lucky with the parking space always available, free parking opposite hotel 16.00 to 10.00 next day. No problems getting into hotel after 22.00 car park door still open or night manager to let you in. Room very clean, very comfortable bed and powerful shower. All staff very polite and helpful. Only had breakfast once which was very enjoyable. I would stay again.

No mirror in recently renovated room or toiletries in bathroom despite stating so in room information….receptionist, nice lady, said mirror is an oversight but no toiletries because of Covid but there was a tub of Carex hand wash at sink for multiple use by different guests.

We had a huge room for two people, plenty of space and one of the comfiest beds ever! The bathroom was nice & big too with a separate bath & shower. Plenty of light & good mirrors too. The recent renovation has certainly paid off. Only downside was the hotel was locked the two nights we were there so had to knock/wait a while to be let back into the property, which seemed an inconvenience for the staff member who let us in. First time was checking in at 10.30pm (we called ahead to say we’d arrive this time) & then at midnight. Having it hotel key controlled would help staff & guests with access. Overall, a great hotel stop over which was perfect for the wedding we attended 10 mins away.

Visit to Sherwood Forrest

It was a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Unfortunately the breakfast shift appeared to be either undermanned or challenging. We sat for some time before being served (both mornings). This was a shame because breakfast was lovely. Our room although cosy and adequate was situated strait above the bar, so a bit noisy. I would recommend a stay; it was good value for the cost of the stay.
