We usually stay at the Hampton Inn but there wasn’t a room there during our trip. We don’t spend a lot of time in the room so we don’t need a fancy place to stay, however this hotel was not good. It reaped of cigarette smoke as you came in and the staff was unprofessional. The heater made a noise all day and the toilet would not stop running if the handle wasn’t adjusted. The carpet was old and stained and the phone call we tried to make to the front desk for more towels went unanswered so we had to go down.

We have stayed at this property before and know this stay was off so I don’t want to bash this stay or anything. The location is very close to Busch Gardens and Staff are usually very pleasant. Our room was dated and terrible this time around however. I think it was a pet friendly room because it smelled a bit and furniture was all scratched up with stained carpet. The bathtub didn’t drain and the ceiling was really peeling and a bit gross feeling. My kids wouldn’t sit on the toilet seat because it was peeling and grossed them out. We thought about asking to change rooms but the kids were tired and didn’t care as much. It was bedbug free so that was all we cared about for a brief stay. The more concerning thing was the lack of lights in the parking lot. They are broken and honestly I drove right by the hotel arriving after dark and I knew where it was from prior visits. There were no lights on outside and it looked like an abandoned property. It felt a little unsafe and eerie. I would have liked to have had a heads up on that prior to arrival. I would have brought a flashlight to help unload the car at least. The movies in the lobby are nice and the fire pit table in the back was also nice.

My family has stayed at this hotel before and it was okay. Its older and needs some updates and renovations. The breakfast area had plenty of options and the staff kept everything full and clean. The staff was very nice.

The staff was helpful, ver professional and nice. The lobby is really nice. However the hotel and rooms need updating. The entrance is dark there are no lights at first we thought we got scam and it was an abandoned hotel. Our first room the lights didn’t work, the second room was infested with roaches, the third one was dirty and there were dead bugs, the forth room was ok, but carpet was so old and coming apart. We were so disappointed. We will not stay again or recommend staying.

The room was very dirty when we got there. An access panel had fallen out of the wall, and the TV did not work. I told the front desk and someone did come by and move furniture to look at the cable wire, but the TV was never fixed & it was left more dirty than before with moving the furniture. I was told they were understaffed and no one could clean my room, so I asked for a vacuum cleaner and literally vacuumed the room myself. Visible dirt and dust everywhere and very much on the heater vent. The parking lot did not have any streetlights on. It was completely dark at night which could have been a very unsafe situation. The breakfast was cold and items not restocked.

Although the large hotel and conference center complex lies about 1.5 miles from the entry to historic Williamsburg, the walk to and from is easy and pleasant. In addition, the hotel is served by a city bus. In fact, I arrived in Williamsburg by train and caught a city bus straight to the hotel. The property itself is beginning to show a few signs of age but remains clean and tidy. The fitness center is well equipped, and the daily morning breakfast filling. The indoor pool was a treat before my daily strolls to historic Williamsburg. The front desk ckerks were courteous and efficient.
