I had an excellent stay at this motel in Whakatane. The room was big and very comfortable, with a separate bedroom and a living room with a kitchen. The bed was super comfy, and the couch was great to relax on. The TV had lots of channels, and its position was perfect for watching. The kitchen was quite large and had everything we needed. There was also a good-sized desk for studying. The staff at the reception were extremely friendly and helpful. They even accommodated us for an extra night when we decided to stay longer. Overall, I am really happy with my stay. I was with my daughter, and we both enjoyed it so much that we will definitely come back. This is one of the best motels I have stayed at in Whakatane. Highly recommend!

Hard to find any fault. Spacious rooms with air conditioning, which is useful in mid-summer in Whakatane. The double-glazing means that the rooms are pretty quiet inside, no traffic noise or noise from other guests in adjacent rooms. We used the kitchen, and the jet-bath. Handy spot for Ōhope beach. The traffic does build up in the middle of Whakatane in the peak of summer, but the hotel is handy to the gorge road for a quick exit if you are going in that direction.

I was greeted in a friendly manner and shown to my room by Malcolm who explained the features and facilities better than I've ever experienced. The rooms are really big, the bathroom is monstrous (with a tiny shower) and everything worked. Reasonably quiet at night with double glazing. Good parking. All good.

The property appears to be quite new and our room reflected this. It was clean and very spacious. Receptionist came to our room & gave us a rundown on room facilities and was happy to answer any questions. Will mention we thought the bed was a little hard for our liking however we all have different preferences. When we returned later that evening, after a function, noticed there was a No Vacancy sign & no parks available for our car, other than a disabled one, so we used that - feeling a little guilty!

This Motel was easily one of the best hotels we have stayed in. I am only sorry we didn't have the time to stay here longer. Quality fittings, new, great layout with separate bedroom and a sitting area outside at the rear of the unit. Spa bath (fantastic after a 12 day road trip). 5 mins to CBD. A plethora of TV stations to watch. A lounge chair, sofa, dining table and desk still leave plenty of room. I could live here permanently.

Best place to stay in Whakatane area
Most of my trip i spent in Rotorua and Taupo but i prefer to drive to Whakatane and srray at 188 On Commerce as i know i am always guaranteed a clean, modern, safe and warm room backed up by professional and friendly service
