Be enchanted by this small village and discover what makes this part of Tirol such a magical year-round destination.

Ski down mountains, hike in sunshine or simply enjoy Westendorf’s atmosphere. This lively village provides access to premium winter ski slopes and healthy summer family fun.

Westendorf is secluded from traffic on a plateau surrounded by streams. Here find a serene setting with everything that you’d expect from a winter wonderland. Get on your snowboard and explore the nearby specialty snowfield known as Boarders Playground, at an elevation of about 5,300 feet (1,600 metres). As the epicenter of the local freestyle scene, it hosts many events here during snow season. Try out its rails, kickers and boxes. The area features a famous giant kicker for the thrillseekers called “Big Mama.” The snow here is groomed and maintained daily.

Set out on a cross-country ski trip or winter hiking session to explore this alpine region under a blue sky. These trails are beautiful at the height of summer. You’re right in the stunning Windau Valley, perfect for exploring on foot.

Get around the scenic way with the Bergbahn, Westendorf’s cable car, which can carry your bike as well if you wish. Travel around the hills in a carriage pulled by horses or on a sled in winter. Local companies offer paragliding and Segway experiences. On the top of the mountain kids can do an “Animal Puzzle Tour,” play with cute creatures and enjoy the outdoors in the Alpinolino Adventure Park, one of the area’s excellent family fun parks.

The village centre of Westendorf is bright and beautiful. Look for the 18th-century Pfarrkirche, a yellow church with a dome. In summer, enjoy the buzz of the weekly Schau Zuichi markets in the city centre buy crafts and souvenirs and taste local delights. Practice rifle shooting or do some skating at the Driving Range Arena, one of the newer places to visit.

Westendorf provides the full spectrum of Tirolean fun and is conveniently located as a stopover between SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and Kitzbühel/Kirchberg.

Westendorf is a very small town with little dining options, the ski resort is a little over rated and difficult for beginners! It was pleasing and everywhere was very clean even though it’s quite busy.

Dining at Hotel Post is highly recommended, although all the of restaurants serve excellent local cuisine. There is a local market on Thursdays (summer time, don't know about winter), which is a nice experience, with live Tyrolean music!
