Bask in the glowing sun on long white beaches and swim in tropical seas at Viwa Island. Dive over reefs teeming with dolphins and turtles before you head to the waterfront bar for a game of table tennis and a cold beer.
The island has a single small resort and plenty of space along the soft sandy beach around its perimeter. Find a quiet spot and relax with a good book while enhancing your tan. To cool off, plunge into the shimmering sea for a swim or use a snorkel and mask to spot colourful fish darting through the shallows.
Head out on a boat ride to one of the deeper reefs. Equipment and qualified scuba diving instruction are provided, giving you the chance to get close to barracuda, turtles and small sharks. Above the water, join a fishing charter for the day. Hook a yellow fin tuna or wahoo and ask the resort chef to prepare it for your dinner.
Return to the island for light pre-dinner entertainment. Play pool or table tennis at the beach bar or learn traditional Fijian skills such as basket weaving, tapa making and sulu tying with a friendly instructor. As evening sets in, enjoy a superb tropical sunset while having a drink at the bar.
When you get hungry, make your way to the restaurant where a plethora of local and international cuisine awaits. Along with freshly caught fish is a fine selection of meat and vegetables cooked however you like.
