I picked this hotel knowing it was not in the center as I wanted air conditioning and a separate room for my child (suite). We learned and the walls are not sound proof (as both were mentioned in the information section on Expedia). The hotels positive is the wait staff was acclimating and friendly. The breakfast was good, and it was as near the walking/biking trail to the old section of town which was quiet and nice). If it had air conditioning I would have given it a solid four stars, but as the day time temperature got to around 90 F it got a stuffy by late afternoon.

I have been at the Loewenhof every year once or twice, since 1993 (for 30 years). Have seen the upgrades, improvements in the physical installation, modernization of the rooms and services (pool, massage facilities) and dining. This time was my first time at the Loewenhof after the COVID19 issues. Personnel has changed, even the chef. The food quality has decreased. They used to have the best pizza in the area, but this time, it s different, lower quality. And the personnel is also new. Just checking in, I asked for 2 more days of staying, leaving the 3rd of December versus 1st of December. It was confirmed by the reception. But on the 1st of December, it appeared as not submitted and I was locked out. So, I had to extend the stay on the 1st, but after a while I got it at a completely different price (higher) and no excuses. And breakfast has old breads, hard breads versus our experience was to get fresh bread from the day: soft and even warm. After 30 years always using this hotel, I'm evaluating other options for my next trip in Spring'24. We were feeling like at home during 29 years, but this time it was different.

Wir hatten in dem Hotel leider das schlechteste Service Erlebnis seit Jahren. Angereist sind wir mit zwei Erwachsenen und einem Kind, haben dann ein Doppelzimmer bekommen. Ein Kinderbett gab es erst auf Nachfrage, weil wir es explizit noch mal in die Buchung neben der weiteren Person hätten schreiben müssen. Wenn keins verfügbar gewesen wäre, wäre das dann unser Problem geblieben. Die Frechheit war dass sowohl das Hotel als auch EXPEDIA Gebühren für die weitere Person beziehungsweise das Bett erhoben haben. Die Art und Weise, wie darauf das Hotelpersonal eingegangen ist, war das unprofessionellste was ich in den letzten Jahren erlebt hab. Der Wellness lag in einem düsteren Keller, entsprach bei weitem nicht dem was auf den Fotos zu sehen war, und war auch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Der Außenpool liegt zwischen Campingplatz und Hotel Fassade auf einem anderen Stockwerk. Der einzige Lichtblick war das Restaurant dies war wirklich gut. Würde das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen.

Die Zimmer sind offenbar relativ frisch renoviert worden und entsprechend hübsch und modern. Viele andere Bereiche sind jedoch sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen. Die grösste Enttäuschung war für uns wohl der Aussenpool. Dieser ist auch für die zahlreichen Gäste des zugehörigen Campingplatzes zugänglich und glich daher eher einem öffentlichen Freibad, mit vielen unbeaufsichtigten Kindern und kaum freien Liegen. Zudem fanden wir den Poolbereich bereits am Morgen dreckig vor. Der ebenfalls in die Jahre gekommene Spa-Bereich befindet sich im UG und roch stark nach Chlor. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist in Ordnung und auch das Personal beim Frühstück aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Personal im Restaurant war grösstenteils unachtsam, desinteressiert und schnippisch. Die Kellnerinnen trugen teilweise Sport-Leggings, für ein 4-Sterne Hotel ein No-Go. In der dunklen Tiefgarage lagen alte Matratzen und man traf auf Küchenpersonal in der Raucherpause, auch dies nicht 4-Sterne Standard. Das Hotel liegt an einer viel befahrenen Strasse, hinter dem Hotel liegt der Campingplatz und ein Industriegebäude. Aussicht hat man nur von den oberen Zimmern. Generell werden alle diese Umstände auf den Fotos geschickt ausgespart, weshalb im Endeffekt ein ungutes Gefühl zurückbleibt. Die Zimmer genügen nicht, dies zu kompensieren.

Das Zimmer war hervorragend, neu, modern und sauber. Der Rest des Hotels ist eher alt und etwas sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Restaurant war alt. Der Wellnessbereich war wirklich sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Solarium ist sicherlich nicht mehr erlaubt gesundheitlich. Ein kleiner Teil des Hotels wurde wirklich sehr schick saniert. Der Rest ist nur sehr oll, was auf den Bildern gekonnt nicht abgebildet wurde.
