One of the highlights of the region is Ponta da Piedade, a series of unreal rock formations that have been carved out from cliffs. Take a boat tour out to get a real good look.

You’ll find a great selection of both traditional Portuguese dishes and international cuisine in Praia da Luz, and a healthy mix of tourists and locals in the restaurants. In Lagos, there is an even larger selection of restaurants serving classic dishes made with clams, plates of barnacles, chunks of octopus, moray eel, squid and anchovies. If you like sweets you must try the local cookies made from almond paste, egg yolks and syrup.

There are supermarkets in Luz and large hypermarkets in the nearby town of Lagos. If you are looking for a greater variety, Aqua Portimão Shopping Centre is a 30 minute drive away and can cater to all your shopping needs.
