"They made a few mistakes in the beginning with my room but they made up for them with extra excelent service, shout out to Mr Yanto and mba Belinda at Kayu Manis restaurant and all the staff at the restaurant for treating me and my Mom with smile, kindness and professionalism. "This hotel is nicely renovated. We stayed here in 2018 and noticed it was in need of a reno. The staff is very helpful. The location is great, very close to Jalan Malioboro. "

"The hotel looks tired, the furniture is stained as well as the carpet, the restaurant’s furniture is old and dirty. Not the best location, better to be at the Malioboro quarters. Staff very friendly and helpful. "

"It’s a place where one can plan a variety activities and they will assist you, or one could just sit for hours looking out across the valley. Either way one will come away with an experience. The attention to detail with regard to the rooms and the resort itself was remarkable. It shows a tremendous care for the resort and for the guest’s experience. "Stunning hotel, very large clean comfortable rooms. Clean bathrooms with robes and slippers. Opposite train station. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Staff was friendly and helpful. They promptly fixed a problem with our aircon. Good breakfast buffet. The rooms are not super soundproof, and we could hear the family next door quite late at night. The light switch situation was a little mystifying. Walkable from the train station if you can figure out which exit to use (we did not). "

"I stayed for 6 nights at the Manohara hotel for a conference at UGM. My stay throughout was excellent, provided that one does not stick around for a meal or beverages. On the one occasion when I decided to have lunch in their restaurant on a Saturday afternoon at 12pm, my one dish of rice and fried chicken took nearly an hour to arrive. Besides one other party of guests in the restaurant, there was just myself. The hotel, room, and location are excellent, but you are better off finding a meal...

"Conveniently located near the shopping street of Malioboro. Hotel is generally well maintained. However the door doesn’t shut completely and I have to ensure that the door is completely shut each time I enter/leave the room. The train and traffic sounds goes on in the middle of the night. I was awoken but fortunately return to sleep quite easily, thanks to the comfortable bed. Will be a problem for light sleepers. "

Pleasant oasis in a busy city

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, especially the pool area. The breakfast buffet was very good with fresh fruit, and egg station and plenty of Asian food options. There are 3 restaurants to choose from, Chinese, Italian and the main restaurant. Dinners were a little below expectations m, we did enjoy the Chinese restaurant but the pizza in the Italian restaurant was quite good. I ordered the chicken breast in the main and was served a chicken leg that was definitely reheated. The hotel is an older hotel but the room was well maintained and comfortable. We slept well. The pool was the main reason we chose the hotel and it was great to cool down after a long day of sightseeing. Towels are provided and you can order drinks and snacks poolside. Some of the planting is a bit sparse and could use a refresh but overall it is a pleasant place to relax. There is an onsite tour office that can organize your airport transportation and sightseeing, but be prepared to pay a premium. We used grab to get around and found it efficient and very reasonably priced."

"The hotel building itself, and the gamelan in the lobby were lovely. The public spaces werevery nice.. It was a beautiful oasis. It was on a noisy road, but felt very peaceful once you were inside. The bathrooms need new sinks. The sheets and towels are clean, but look dirty because they are disolored. The restaurant was very basic, almost as though they did not expect guests. There did not seem to be any other restaurants to walk to in the vicinity. "
