The Cathedral of Trier (Trierer Dom) is an outstanding church that has survived many periods, each having made its mark on the striking architecture. This enormous religious institution rises high above the surrounding area, creating a fairy-tale look with its turrets, spires and cylindrical towers. Tours take about 1 hour and are available in many languages for a group or individual fee. Meet at the information stand in the cathedral to start the circuit. Note that the church opens daily from morning until late afternoon. The church museum is closed on Mondays.
