Unbelievably - UNBELIEVABLY - loud music. We booked a 3 bed-room as we were travelling with our young son, and the room we were given was DIRECTLY above the venue, which is effectively a nightclub, on a Saturday night at least. None of us are easily bothered by noise, but the music from the venue started loudly, then got louder, and, incredibly, louder still once the live band started. The volume was so loud, and the bass so strong, that items began falling off our bedside tables, and to make it worse, the fire alarm - with lights - went off 4 times throughout the night, either as a result of people at the venue downstairs setting it off, or simply as a result of the incredible volume. The music ended at around midnight, which of course is far too late when you have children trying to sleep.
What I found most insulting was that our booking clearly reflected the fact that we were travelling with a child, and yet we were given the room presumably directly above the dancefloor of the venue without a word or a thought about any potential noise that we would experience. How anyone would think that putting a hotel room above a venue like this is a good idea is beyond belief. Cambrian Inn, why don't I send you the video I filmed in the room showing the volume of the music - or you could stay in the room yourself on a Saturday night and see what you think?
