"The Pros: The hotel is big, with wonderful mountain and ocean views. Rooms are big. The staff was mostly very courteous. The Cons: Built in the 1980s, the hotel doesn’t appear to have been renovated since then, giving it a “lost in time” feel. Very outdated facilities for charging electronic devices. "What a delightful stay! This was absolutely perfect for my time on Yakushima, and exceeded my expectations. "The place is very quiet. I initially wanted to hike the Jomon Sugi trail, but with limited time and insufficient preparation, it wasn't possible. However, Kentaro was so very helpful in suggesting an alternative trekking itinerary. Hopefully I wasn't too annoying with my endless questions :)"

The property was amazing - the cottage is situated in an incredibly well kept garden in beautiful Yakushima. It is a short(ish) walk to the Senpiro Falls. "Had a great stay here. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. The traditional japanese tatami room was nice to experience. Kentaro went out of his way to make us feel at home. We missed a bus that only comes around every 2 hrs and Kentaro appeared out of nowhere in his Van, was like "Hurry get on!" and we chased down that bus. Good times! Thanks Ken!"

"We stayed in one of the bigger rooms with the outdoor bath. Only fits one at a time for adults but the deck and upper deck are beautiful. Room is overall clean, big and kitchen was great considering the island food opens late and closes early. A car is needed to access and anyone visiting Yakushima needs a rental car.
