Toro is a pretty town in the province of Zamora, famous for its wines and where history abounds. It is located atop a high plain looking over the magnificent valley of the River Duero. The most noteworthy of the monuments is the collegiate church of Santa María la Mayor, a beautiful Romanesque church built between the 11th and 12th centuries.
