"The hotel is nice in the lobby and walkways. The room was descent. We didn't like how close the toilet was to the adjacent wall. The beds were hard in our opinions. Parking is $25 extra to be secure or locked in. There is street parking close by that we should have done instead. The hotel is walking distance to good restaurants. We at ate the Speights Ale House behind the hotel. It had great food/ drinks and atmosphere. "

"Nice hotel, beautifully decorated and very clean. However, although the room was lovely it was tiny with practically no space around the queen sized bed. Staff were friendly enough but the restaurant staff seemed very stressed. We had breakfast on Christmas Day and there was nothing festive or special about the service at all. Reception staff were helpful although checkout was more complicated than it should have been! "

"We were travelling with a 92 year old lady with limited mobility so were delighted to find our double Queen room had a large, easily accessible bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Room service was very quick and meals delicious, especially the battered blue cod. "

"Easy walks to settlers museum, old prison tour, and railroad station where we took a trip into the rural area inland. A lot of students drinking during their winter holidays, but the hotel is sufficiently off the octagon that there wasn’t much noise.bring your own electrical adapters!"

"This property has a very nice view of a pretty beach. We walked on the beach every moment, it wasn't raining. They have an excellent restaurant in the same building. "

Friendly & Great Location

"Kingsgate Hotel had friendly staff and fantastic location across the road from the Town Hall and close to the Octogan. Our room was spacious for the 3 of us and clean, however very tired and old decor. Breakfast was OK and appreciated they had gluten free options. Parking at $15 a night was pricey but plenty of parking on the street. A refurb/update would make this an awesome hotel!"
