Spend a whole day reading, sleeping and swimming in the warm ocean when you visit the blissfully serene Tien Thanh Beach. Around sunset, head to one of the resort bars for a drink and a tasty meal. Then return the next day to do it all over again.
Escape the crowds of locals and tourists at pretty Tien Thanh Beach, a couple of miles south of Phan Thiet. This isolation is its charm. If you’re looking for your own tropical dreamland you may well find it along this stretch of empty sand.
Enjoy sunbathing or play beach games on the wide soft sands and then cool off in the ocean. The water off the beach is fairly deep, making it an excellent place to swim. There are often small waves to jump over as they break gently on the shore. Rent a kayak or windsurfer from one of the resorts at the beach and head out to sea for a beautiful view back toward the palm-fringed sands.
Take a walk north along the sand to gaze back at the hazy outline of Phan Thiet in the distance. Watch small fishing boats heading in and out of the harbour with the catch of the day.
After a day in the sun, make your way from the sand to one of the beachside resorts. Most have bar areas set in pretty gardens where you can indulge in a cocktail or two as the sun goes down over the glistening South China Sea. Stay into the evening and enjoy a meal of freshly caught fish prepared Vietnamese style.
Tien Thanh Beach is located a short distance from the town of Phan Thiet. Take a taxi or rent a bike and cycle to the beach. Several resorts at Tien Thanh have sun loungers and umbrellas which you can use for a small fee.
