"Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "First time staying at Sidemen Villa, I’m initially thought I would be bored but the villa is so tranquil. Waking up to the sound of the jungle & view of the Mt Agung from the bed is beyond description. Service via WhatsApp is very efficient and breakfast can be served on request with no additional cost. Facilities are new and very well kept. I want to keep this a secret but this place deserved to be known. Enjoy people - you won’t regret! "

"The villas are incredibly well made, and everything is just so easy to organise! The area around the villas is what I had pictured when I thought of “original ubud” which is what our driver said about the area. The street is quiet - no traffic- and an ebike tour was the most traffic we saw the whole time. It was close to all the great sites - heaps of waterfalls around, goa gajah, the water temple, the rice fields. A great place to base yourself out of, however you might never want to leave...

"This property is on the most beautiful beach in the area. White sand beach leads to turquoise ocean with snorkelling right off the beach. The staff is warm and welcoming and our deck was 3 feet from the pool which overlooks the ocean a few steps below. It is located in a small quite village with many small restaurant but if you want more action many of the restaurants in Canadista will give you a ride there and back or you can have a driver take you for $4-5."

"Stayed here last year & liked the cottages & restaurant so we returned this year. Staff at restaurant & house keeper are lovely. Cottages clean, food great & right on the best beach for snorkelling. We saw 2 large turtles & many coloured fish & huge coral around the coral garden not far off shore."
