1. Villa Tugendhat
Visit Villa Tugendhat to discover a marvelous example of the functionalist architecture movement that hit Brno during the 1920s. Explore contemporary-designed rooms, admire displays of period furniture and wander around a pristine garden. Villa Tugendhat is the former home of Grete and Fritz Tugendhat, two heirs to industrial fortunes. In 1927, they commissioned German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to build the villa, which today is internationally famous for its designs.

2. Spilberk Castle
Unravel centuries of royal history amid the dungeons, ramparts and museum of Špilberk Castle. This striking landmark has operated as a seat for the Moravian margraves, a fortress and a Habsburg-era prison. Špilberk Castle dates back to the mid-1200s, when it was established by King Přemysl Otakar II. It looms over Brno’s Old Town from a hilltop surrounded by tree-lined gardens.

3. Lednice Liechtenstein Castle
Lednice Castle is a sumptuous chateau, a neo-Gothic masterpiece surrounded by lavish gardens. Once the summer home of a prominent aristocratic family, this grand structure is now a UNESCO-listed cultural site. Within its extensive grounds are a 19th-century greenhouse filled with tropical plants, an artificial ruin of a castle and a minaret.
