"Lovely receptionist on check in. Some young, not particularly proffesional staff at dinner. Long wait for service. Poor bar boy Danny. One girl from restaurant not always kind to him. Guests in bar all commenting " poor boy " it was very busy and only him serving bar and restaurant. Waitress stated too loud, unfortunately all in the bar heard. "We were visiting Thursford and wanted to stay not far away so chose Rampant Horse. It was so good as it was a self contained flat. The Hayloft. All facilities were available. Clean and comfortable. Just so suitable for our requirements. "

"The queen Victoria was a lovely local village pub and was pleasantly surprised that we were staying in a little chalet 1 of 4 just outside near the beer garden lovely and warm as it was freezing outside nice and clean with tea and coffee... once settled we went for a glass of wine in the bar the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and had a log burner where we sat enjoying our wine.... as we left in the carpark we heard little goats bleating which were in the corner of the beer garden so had a...

"Great room, small but very quirky and lots of extra touches such as bottled water, fresh milk and KitKats! Just had to remember to duck through door frames. Good sized bathroom and shower plus walk-in wardrobe provided plenty of storage. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Didn’t sample rest of pub food as only stayed one night but the list of desserts was impressive. Will definitely stay again when next in the area."

"Just went that extra bit to make the stay really lovely. Gin and cocktails in the room was a nice touch, as was personal service from the owner. You could tell he was very proud of it. Excellent breakfast too. Just be aware, Hotels.com don’t tell you the restaurant and bar are closed Mon and Tue, and places to eat in BM are few.
