Sip sparkling wines and taste gourmet food products including sauces, preserves, jams and pickles at The Berry Farm. This farm and winery is set in the beautiful Rosa Glen Valley and has been making and selling its own produce since the 1980s.
The farm features more than 10 hectares (24.7 acres) of avocado trees, an orchard and a berry patch that consists of blueberries, jostaberries and raspberries.
Go to The Berry Farm’s Cellar Door for fruit jams, naturally fermented vinegars and many other gourmet food products, all produced at the farm. You are encouraged to try before buying and you can also sample many different wine varieties while you are here. Among varieties are sparkling and fortified wines. Any children in your party who may not be as excited as you about the quality and range of food and drink can play in the Cellar Door's children's corner.
After your tasting and shopping mission, unwind in the Cottage Café, which offers seasonal menus made from local produce. The café is housed in a settler's cottage from the 1920s. Enjoy views of the garden and farm from the cottage’s wide verandas. At the back of the café is a playground for kids.
During your time at the farm, go for a walk in the Cottage Garden. It is filled with several different types of trees, plants and flowers, including many roses. Among the bird species you can sometimes see in the garden are the New Holland honeyeater and the blue wren.
The farm is situated in Rosa Brook, about 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) from the town of Margaret River. Get a taxi from there or drive and use the free on-site car park.
The Berry Farm is open daily, except for New Year’s Day, Good Friday and a few days around Christmas.
