Booked last minute. I was expecting the breakfast was included but I was told not included when I checked in.
I have showed the receptionist that I booked with breakfast but nothing confirmed in my email. I still have the screenshot but wasn’t something they offered me. Was very disappointed.

You sent me an email saying the kitchen was shut and only continental breakfast was available so I nearly cancelled and ate somewhere else before I got to the hotel. The kitchen was open and I could have eaten there. Really disrupting to my plans.
Nice stay, spacious comfortable room, friendly staff. Good location for walks.

Room was reasonably clean. Issues we had was fire alarm testing at 1 in the morning. Room not made up on Saturday. Key card didn't always work. Breakfast which we thought was included was an extra £14.95 each per day. Tea tray not kept stocked. Had to request extra supplies.
Would not book this dated hotel ever again. We stayed 2 nights and had 3 rooms.. we did think about checking out on the first night. The place is so dated and unclean, the staff are very young and seem to lack experience in customer services
Turned up to be told was a double booking and no room available at 10pm. Appalling

This is such a disappointing hotel. It's in the most perfect location and has the potential to be a really exclusive venue for weddings and short breaks.
Sadly, the devor and whole vibe doesn't seem to have evolved in several decades. Finding our room was a nuisance as it wasn't well sign-posted and it smelt very badly stale and of cigarettes. It was on the ground-floor as we have a dog, so i assume smokers' stand just outside the room.
There were some sachets of instant coffee, but not even one teabag. Towels also smelt stale.
It's an adequate place if the price is low, but it could be so much more impressive. It feels like a real waste considering the gorgeous surroundings.
For the price we paid I was absolutely amazed at the standard of this hotel. Lots of parking and very convenient for the conference in Telford. I had no complaints about my room at all. My colleague had to have a lock replaced but they offered us a free drink each at the bar to compensate for the inconvenience. The food was good in the restaurant (maybe a few more vegan options, please?). Best of all were the staff - every single person was most pleasant and helpful.

was okay pillows and bed wasn’t that great but for £50 last minute was okay. the temperature for the shower the knob kept turning by itself so had to hold it in place.
Overall a nice experience, the room was basic but had all you need for a few nights stay. Staff were excellent. Only downside was they had a large coach party staying so were fully booked and they seemed to be inadequately staffed. This meant meal times were crowded and we ended up eating in the bar rather than the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.
The bathroom floor, plug holes and sink, together with our bedroom carpet, were not clean. The decor was very worn and is showing signs of wear, aging and is in need of repairs. The breakfast was very functional with little choice. However, the staff are lovely.

We have recently made great strides in substantially improving our Housekeeping standards, following an internal investigation. The hotel has just changed hands and the new owners have already embarked upon a big improvement/refurbishment programme for the hotel. Our breakfast reflects our value for money prices, however all guests are invited to submit suggestions of what they would like to see on the breakfast menu in the future.Thank you for your very kind comment about the staff.

Wouldn't rush back
So hot, more like a care home than a hotel. The thermostat in the restaurant was set to 25 degrees even though the weather was very mild. Radiators on first floor were pumping out so much heat. Light outside the lift on the second floor was burnt out. Sound system in the restaurant distorted so much and totally inappropriate music being played during dinner and at a totally inappropriate volume. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, bed was comfortable.

The location of the property is ideal for visiting other areas , the property could do with some uodating the decor is looking tierd now, we have stayed here about 6 times.
We had a lovely time, thank you . Nice hotel, good staff - working very hard ( I imagine short staffed like everywhere ) they were busy but managed to stay cheerful and professional. We loved exploring the local area . We will be back .

Breakfast was really good - would stay again
Great stay for anyone wanting a nice peaceful location. We had room with balcony over the pond which was nice. Everything you would need in the room and breakfast was good too, bargain stay for the price paid, definately recommend.
We were there for a 2 night stay. We were due to be up and out early before the scheduled 08:00 breakfast. We were offered a 'Continental Breakfast' at our preferred time. The breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, juice, tea or coffee on morning 1. Morning 2; tea and coffee was not offered until 15 minutes after we sat down. When we explained we didn't have time due to having to leave soon. We received the response of "Oh" and the member of staff promptly walked off !
We were unable to connect to the advertised free WIFI in our room. My wife contacted reception to question this to be told "if you want to connect you'll have a better chance in the Bar" that was the end of that conversation. No apology, no explanation ! Maybe we should have moved our bed to the bar ! Incidentally I did notice the secured Hotel Staff WIFI was displaying a very strong signal in our room.
