We've always loved visiting Taos and Doc Martins, however, this was the first time we stayed at The Taos Inn. The bar is friendly, the food is good and the live music is entertaining in the evening. We reserved a twin room and it was located near the entry and front desk. The blinds were torn and damaged and the cold air came through the windows at night. Every evening and early morning before sunrise employees were talking outside our room so it was disruptive. There was a heater available but it did not help the cold coming through the windows at my bed. I would not recommend room 104 to anyone who wishes to have privacy and quiet at night & early morning.

Comfy, clean room with a gas fireplace and live music in the lobby. Excellent location for walking to bars, restaurants, shops, museums, and parks. Easy check in and out. Highly recommend.

Taos Inn is a lovely old building, not pretentious, with some beautiful rooms and a really good restaurant (Doc Martin's). They don't serve breakfast but there are good options within a short walk. My only problem was the heat, which was on (in my mind unnecessarily) and i couldn't control, but the staff were friendly and allowed me to change to a cooler room.

Shower water was only lukewarm. Floor was slanted, especially in the bathroom. Room was dark and tired. There was a small bottle of lotion in the bathroom, half used already and looked worn. Yuck. Had hoped for more for $307 a night.

This is a very comfortable place. Old enough to be interesting, but very well kept. It would have been nice to have had a coffee maker in the room because we're early risers, but there is coffee in the lobby starting at 6 am. Of particular note, Vincent went out of his way to help us when we first arrived, because the road work mentioned below complicated our arrival a bit. As referenced above, the temporary downside is that there is a major road resurfacing project underway on the street right in front of the hotel, and the traffic during the day is hideous. The good news is that the old town center is right across the street, with many, many shops and restaurants. The work was supposed to be done in June but here we are in October and I see no end in sight, so that should be kept in mind.

The property was in keeping with the rest of the historic town. Hated the inconvenience of the street maintenance which made it difficult to get to and get out of the Inn. This was not the fault of the Inn, however.

We have stayed at this hotel repeatedly for 10 years. Sadly, the experience this week was so woefully bad that we will likely never stay there again. We were assigned room 107, which is on the courtyard of the restaurant. It was noisy and raucous until 9pm. We tried getting a table at the restaurant. There were several empty tables for two. At first we were told it would be two minutes while they set up the table. After ten minutes, the hostess told us we were probably better off going somewhere else because it would be at least an hour before we could be seated. We waited in the lobby and never saw anyone seated in the empty two seaters. In the middle of the afternoon a maintenance man spent an inordinate amount of time blowing leaves and dust around the courtyard right outside our window. Never again will we stay there. How sad. We have been staying there faithfully for more than ten years.

There were bugs in the shower. There were not enough towels in the room. Poor lighting. Poor electrical outlets. No coffee pot in room and no coffee offered/no dining on a Friday morning. We have stayed here many times before and have never been so disappointed.

The hotel is lovely and centrally located. There is a lot of history and the folks working there were really kind and friendly. The only negative we had, was that the beds were firmer than we like.
