"Fantastic hotel. The decor was great and the staff were friendly."

"The hotel seems to be designed for couple getaways. As a solo business traveler I felt awkward and was given a room right by the check-in counter. The biggest issue I faced was at checkout when 4-5 staff descended on the room to 'check' it and a couple minutes later a young man came out waving the white bed-sheet showing me a blue marker stain! I travel a lot and I don't remember ever taking a marker to bed! They were trying to extract an extorted 'tip' I guess because as soon as I took a serious tone with the man at the desk and mentioned I will recount all this in a review, they started apologizing for the 'confusion.' Also, there was another room next to mine near the entrance lobby and there was a couple staying there. I could hear them talk late into the night, the soundproofing leaves much to be desired."

I would also like to commend the housekeeping team for the birthday decorations as well as maintaining the room in impeccable condition. The cleanliness, attention to detail, and consistency throughout my stay did not go unnoticed and greatly enhanced my comfort. "Wonderful house, excellent service, good food (if anything, the portions were too generous). The gardens are the highlight, flower borders, etc - much nicer version of England compared to the original. Development encroaching in the valley, but there isn’t much the hotel can do about that I suppose. "

"Wood work condition deteriorated and a fire hazard; no fire detectors. Room rate expensive for such a condition. "

"If you want to read, you must do so during daylight hours. The room is too dark and the lights are minimal. There is no breakfast included as they have no buffet nor restaurant. No pool. But was glad our room had a couch and the queen bed had 4 pillows."
