They asked for pre-payment via LINE but my phone could not receive the authentication code sent by my credit card.
Still, they charged my card (without telling me) under the business name Starbeauty Hotel and told me it was a mistake and that it would be refunded.
Arranged to pay by cash at 2:30pm on the day, arrived but no rep was there.
Rang and was told that they'd cancelled my booking because I hadn't paid!
Argued that they can't do that because it's a contract and we had a prior arrangement, besides, they would have charged me if I hadn't turned up. They then declined my calls.
Contacted Expedia, who tried to get in touch with the property but told me the property staff couldn't communicate in English.
Meanwhile, witnessed the maid wiping down everything with just the guests' white towels and stepping on the towels with her shoes to wipe the floor. It showed the level of cleanliness.
After more than an hour of anxious waiting, eventually, they got a cleaning maid to accept the cash payment.
I was given a room with split levels which was different to the single level quadruple room that I booked. It was adjacent to a shower next door and extremely noisy when someone used the bathroom. I complained but they refused to change the room.
Overall, a very stressful experience and an unpleasant stay. Save your sanity, go book somewhere else. This property should not be listed on Expedia
