Hotel Slyva was perfect in every way. Kind, helpful and professional staff; ideal location in a gorgeous town with incredible restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, bookstores, bars; walkable to everything, even churches! It is on a busy street so there was street noise but it was convenient and right across the street from the county courthouse which was beautifully decorated for Christmas!

It's not the first time staying there and I was disappointed this time because when it was time to shower (around 10 pm) I found several hairs in the shower, which is very disgusting to me. Also, the light (which was off) in the bathroom began to flicker and was hard to fall asleep, even with the closed door. I eventually fell asleep and when I woke up the light was fine, so I did not say anything about because it was no longer doing it. I really enjoy the area and always stay here, but my expectations were not met this time around. Next time I'll make it a point to inspect the room as soon as I arrive so that I can notify the front desk of any issues.

My only complaint was the shower water pressure which I feel is pretty typical for hotels. The room was gorgeous, beds and pillows were super comfy. They had a lock box for me to pick up my key since after hours and it didn’t work, I contacted the after hours and within 10 minutes I was in my room. I will definitely be staying again if I’m in need of a room in the area.

Hotel Sylva is in the heart of this quaint town. Walk to restaurants, shops and brewery. Completely refurbished. Super clean and comfortable!! Will definitely stay again.

Normally I avoid small ground level hotels since i travel as a solo female most of the time. I felt so safe in this hotel/city. It was clean and bug free. The only complaint i have was there wasnt a blow drier in the room (atleast not one I saw), however I didnt have anything fancy planned so no biggie.
