"We did not visit as tourists, nor did we have the budget for this, but we deeply enjoyed the relatively affordable stay that allowed us to explore the Arctic! Special thanks go out to the wonderful staff who ensured that we had great food, amazing breakfasts, and some wonderful conversations!"

"Lovely stay! My mountain view was more of a view of the front entrance and parking with a tip of hill showing behind the building across the street. Not great, but super comfortable room and great tub! The local food was all delicious as well. I went to Kroa a couple times and the hotel restaurant as well but just for dinner. So good! "

"I loved my stay at Guesthouse 102. It’s converted from an old miners housing which is very cool! It’s super cute and cozy. Breakfast was lovely (the waffles were the best). The staff are wonderful - thank you Khristin for helping me with bookings tours - she was the best)! It’s about 1.5 mile walk to the city center and you have to take your shoes off before you enter, which I really appreciate (so bring some slippers or indoor shoes to wear). I would absolutely stay here again next time I’m...

"Svalbard Lodge. A basic 2 bedroom apartment with very good kitchen with oven hot plates and dishwasher. The bench is a bit awkward due very low cupboards There is less than one meter from cupboard to bench. Not good for tall people. A large bathroom with washing machine and bath with shower. The bedrooms are typical Scandinavian very small with just bed or beds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Brandon the Filipino handyman was brilliant. "Our stay was great, except for that one day that we didn't get to use the sauna and jacuzzi because it's maintenance day. Breakfast is sumptuous. Customer service is excellent. Staff is very helpful. The lobby looks like it needs some renovation. Place is very close to restaurants, shops and grocery store, walking distance to the water. My husband even briefly saw the Northern Lights one night. Can't wait to come back."
