The Stone Maiden is a lovely inn, walking distance to the restaurants and theatre. The owners have maintained the history of this amazing building. The Secret Garden Room is like a private apartment at the top of the building, we loved it. Super charming.
We stayed one night in the Lewis Terrace room while attending a performance at the Festival Theatre. The Inn is undergoing renovations so I won't comment on the general condition of the property. Also we did not partake of the complementary breakfast. The room was unique with a comfortable queen bed with nice sheets and pillows. However the bathroom had only one light over the sink and mirror while the toilet and bathtub/shower were in darkness. In spite of running the faucet for an extended time there was no hot water!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Property is beautiful and within walking distance to everything.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I only gave this property an average review. The mattress was too soft for us and the room was alittle overdecorated. There was no cable TV and we couldn’t get the the streaming to work.Breakfast was adequate for a continental but no buns muffins or croissants which we associate with a continental
Room was clean. Stayed in the Charmaine. Onsite parking. Close to main strip. Walking distance to everything.
Room temperature was very hot. Bring your own fan as there isn’t one in the room nor does the window have a screen so you can’t open it without letting in bugs/wildlife.
Our stay here was excellent! The property is incredibly charming and just what we were looking for. The beds were comfortable and we slept like babies. The continental breakfast in the dining room was also very enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Inn.
The reviews I pre read were not Fair or accurate. Check in quick
Room clean ...yes DATED but it is 1873 remember
Amazing Breakfast.....bagels, muffins, English muffins warm biscuits...fruit...cheese, cold meat....2 types of juice. coffee....SO NOT HOT food...really..
Quiet, safe, area
Parking a bit tight but it was FREE and available
MY only issue was overpowering deodorizer.....
Not for anyone with climbing stair issues but read the website

Liked: Cleanliness
The Inn is a lovely old building. The place was clean and the staff was pleasant. It could benefit from some updating and it would create a nicer atmosphere if the property manager wore professional clothes. We came for breakfast at 9:15 and there weren't any pastries or fruit left and they weren't replenished.
A beautiful, unique inn with character and a nice continental breakfast.

I had read many reviews of the property and saw that some of the more recent showed improvement over time. I did not feel like the property "sparkled". Our room was cramped (Romeo and Juliet) while it was "en suite", the shower was next to the bed. with the sink and toilet across the room. We could not lower window or close blinds so were unable to control nighttime lighting.
Several people had complained because no breakfast, so we didn't expect any, but were pleasantly surprised to find tea and coffee, some bread items and a bit of yogurt which was enough for us. We decided the property is just too big to manage without full-time on site management.
