The older hotel was clean, room was clean. Breakfast was very good and all staff was courteous. The only thing I really didn’t like was the sandpaperery towels. Would stay there again since accommodations were acceptable and a good price.

The property was nice. Loved that they had a shuttle to downtown and the over to the one beach if you wanted to go. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Real eggs and ham some days, sausage others and bacon too. We did get our 2 complimentary drinks as well. The only thing is the ice maker was not working and they had no idea it was not. We tried to find the other one and never could. Otherwise they came each morning made the beds and also gave clean towels. We had a great time. Thank you

Always a bit nervous booking online but this independent motel was wonderful. They have a free full onsite prepared breakfast, free shuttle to downtown and homemade brownies every afternoon. Those are over and above the usual, but the usual was very nice also. Don’t be afraid to book unless you need elegant.

If you want a motel 6 room for the price of a Hilton this is it. Property was clean however the room was much to be desired. Furniture looked like they picked it up at goodwill, scratches on everything, 2seater looked like something you wouldn’t sit on No lamps in the bedroom, no decorations on walls. Not even a mirror in the bedroom. Then they charge an additional $25 for a bs service fee, so I guess the free breakfast really isn’t free. Just another rip off tourist trap. Stay away!!!!

Staff are great. Proximity to noisy road was a little challenging as well as some of the other guest's barking dogs. Cleaning staff entered our room despite their being a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. They charge the full amount as well as a $100 incidental fee (supposed to be refunded). Room was outdated and smelled musty. I would recommend for the relative proximity to downtown area.

The heat- a/c in the room was not working as it had been unplugged due to load noise and shaking of the unit. Also only one electric outlet in the room for charging and it was in the bathroom. Alarm clock had a plug but did not function. We had a king size bed we stay in a lot of hotels and it was one of the worst beds. The staff was nice and tried to be helpful. Breakfast could be improved upon

My husband and I loved this property. It is very clean, well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. The free breakfast, included much more than most hotels. And they offer free transportation… An enclosed shuttle to the historic district and back. We will definitely return to this place.

The staff was great, as was the breakfast. Its location makes it super easy to get to downtown St. Augustine or the beach (both are less than 10 mins. away) by car, AND the shuttle was a nice option, running every 20 minutes or so until 10pm. It was definitely winter when I visited, So I didnt swim. Nevertheless, the pool area was beautiful and well maintained. Southern Oaks seems great for dogs, with tons of outdoor room to run around, play frisbee, and treats at the front desk! Taco Libre next door is delicious and the drug stores across the street makes it convenient for just about anything. Really friendly place.

Wonderful place, especially if you’re traveling with a dog, they cater nicely to pets. The location was a little away from center, which made it nice. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was nice and the staff friendly. Nice little dog park for the dogs as well.
