The nonsmoking room was clean, but it had a very strong unpleasant odor. I questioned the owner to verify it was a nonsmoking room, and she insisted that it was. I kept the exterior door open for an extended period of time to allow fresh air to enter, which helped somewhat temporarily. The bathroom was the 1960s/1970s green, which I loved. Having lived in this town for the first half of my life, I was excited to stay in what was once The Ranch Motel.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, clean and perfect for my short stay. Tons of dining options close by and only a few minutes from a decent gym for those who want to get a workout in.

Excellent choice for traveling on a budget. Very convenient to the highway. Traveling alone and appreciated the parking right by the room. Very safe and well lit at night. Furniture may be a bit dated but clean. Tub was clean enough to take a bath, if I were a person to take baths. Area behind the toilet and light switches might have been a bit cleaner. Linens were very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

God bless you. I was looking for an easy acces to Monett MO where we are working, then this motel at Mount Vernon appeared and saved our housing and money during a week while looking for a closer place to our worksite.

Roach Motel
Check in was difficult had to ask around to get some help as no one was at the counter. Went into the room and the smell is very interesting to say the least. Rooms are rather beat up and ran down looking. Linens were WELL used. What ever you do, don't leave your things in your room the house keeping is well versed in METH ingestion. Spend the extra 30$ and stay some where else or bring your pistol!!
