"This property is new and beautiful! A vibe of retro motor lodge meets luxe boutique. Hi o & chic at the same time. I sent as initially thrown off by the doors on the outside, but the Trail Hotel pulled it off! The lobby is beautiful with many spaces to sit in small groups & relax on gorgeous leather chairs & relax. The bar is gorgeous and cocktails are great! Steakhouse is delicious. There is a golf simulator that looks like a posh lounge that can be booked and a great speakeasy in the basement. The outdoor pool is in the center with a nice pool bar so you don’t have to go far to grab a drink & bask in the sun. The semi-submerged pool loungers are a nice touch. The gift shop offers some great items including their collection of bourbon & rye. Michael the bar manager (I believe?) was lovely & went over & above to create one of the best old fashioneds I’ve ever had. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a fridge & coffeemaker & the toiletries provided feel upgraded with travel m-size luxe body lotion, etc. Bed & pillows were comfy. There are wonderful fire pits with Adirondack chairs outside and our group loved gathering around the fire each night with a cocktail & stories from the day to share. We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our time.
The hotel is new and they were somewhat under-staffed as evidenced upon check-in - we waited behind another couple who said they had been waiting a while with no one manning the front desk. This was rectified."
"We were in Danville for a family wedding. we used most of the towels in the bathroom getting ready for the wedding. When we returned to the hotel after the wedding, we called down to the front desk and asked for some more bath sheets. This was about10 in the evening. Within ten minutes or so, a clerk from the front desk brought us two complete sets of bath towels for use the next morning.
I have rarely gotten service of this level even from upscale hotels in cities like Chicago and New York."

"Rode up for the Hoka Hey Rendezvous, and looking at comparable prices, was a little concerned as it was less than half the cost.
For sure, this is a motel facility, but what a pleasant surprise. Super clean, convenient, and incredibly charming. The staff were amazing and friendly.
Sometimes it's the perfect match - a quaint, cozy, friendly place. Not to take anything away from a larger chain, but they can be sterile.
And you just can't beat the price! Super happy and would stay here again in a heartbeat."
