It had everything you could want for a family stay, from baking trays to children's colouring and teddes.Utilities, cups, glasses, chopping knives were all in immaculate condition. "Nice cozy hotel in town centre - short walking distance to main square, shopping street and two Gothic churches (seemingly always closed)…. Excellent rich breakfast, but ONLY till 9:30 sharp. What a pity. Sewage smell in our bathroom (114) should be fixed. Comfy bed! 👌 Nice small wellness (extra payment). Easy parking."

Problems with PIN code based access that they change during your stay, and don’t inform about the new code so you can not get in during unmanned hours of the reception (which is all the time almost). Could not call number provided because of non-mobile roaming blocking the only option to get help. If implementing a PIN based access system, it must work so the code can not be changed until all current guests have been CONFIRMED to have been informed. They should...

"We found this place by chance and were glad we did. It was lovely! Our room was very spacious and there was a common kitchen for cooking which we took advantage of as there was a grocery store close by (short drive but would have been walkable). Lots of character. The couch in our bedroom was a bit shabby but we spent our time downstairs visiting with other guest and the manager. "

Very nice hotel - but prolomg breakfast till 10:00

Hotels.com needs to improve their platform.

"The lodging was fine. But we had a situation upon arrival that was a bit uncomfortable as no one was available to receive us. Hence, this is more of a criticism of the platform hotels.com because we received an email that said the booking is confirmed and only much further down the email in small print did it notify that we needed to contact the property 24 hours in advance to make arrangements for access to property. Further down the line, it indicated only a phone number for special requests. The criticism is of the platform itself hotels.com that does not provide a vehicle for the property to be in touch with the guest for sharing details to access the property. No email was received from the property (unlike on other bookings) and only by chance were we able to reach the property owner. "

Gloss but lots of small issues

"Great reviews so booked at short notice, wish we hadn’t. The room was spacious but had a number of annoying or safety issues. First of all the blinds didnt go all the way down leaving bright sunlight streaming directly onto the bed. The bathroom was awful after a shower, just like a skating rink. The breeze block step into the building was wobbly. The worst was the electric lead, plugged in, which then trailed across the corridor, and out the front door, twice we nearly went flying when we tripped over it"
