"Staff seemed “put out” when we has any issues, often said basically ‘that’s not my department.” We had 2 rooms and the heating and air didn’t work in one for 2 days. Staff kept saying there’s nothing they could do but we persisted and they finally sent someone who fixed it in about 30 minutes. The entire lobby was closed for a New Year’s party for only ages 21 & upon New Year’s Eve but we could watch & hear the whole thing from our balcony. Shouldn’t market as a “family” resort when NYE was closed to anyone under 21. Looked like there were very few people there anyway. Bars don’t open til 4. We would have gladly spent $ on drinks there if bar was open earlier but had to go elsewhere. Hot tub was NASTY. "

"Excellent! Beautiful lake view. The only thing is that my room was next to laundry room and smoke coming out probably from driers. For summer time one cannot go to the balcony for fresh air. It was ok for me as it was wintertime and cold. I couldn’t not go out to balcony anyway. "

"Basecamp South Lake Tahoe is quaint, clean and convenient to the center of town and Heavenly Village. My kids and I stayed 2 nights. The breakfast offered in the front office/ lobby was great and surprisingly not super expensive. Bonus- they also have a water station in the lobby so you can refill water bottles if you are here to hike or ski. There are 2 hot tubs on the property… and fire pits where you can roast marshmallows or just relax. I would recommend the property. "
