She seems to work around the clock and she is the most friendly, gracious & most accommodating to all of her guests. Me and my husband felt like we were her only guests by the way she attended to us. "Lovely helpful staff, beautifully laid out rooms with excellent facilities. Housekeeping was perfect. Fantastic pools, perfect for families. There was a lovely mix of nationalities staying at the hotel, perfect for families or couples. 15 mins or for a coastal walk into Chania - a vibrant city with a stunning old town and Venetian harbour. Recommend a day trip to the Samaria gorge if you’re active. "

"The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The location was quite a shock as the hotel is situated in a 2 km stretch of restaurants, souvenir shops, and noisy clubs across from the beach. We would have preferred a quaint setting in the Old Town."

"Great Hotel in a great location. We loved the 25 minute stroll into town each night, past the great bars and restaurants. Beach access was straight across the road with free beds. Free parking etc. it was just great. Room was lovey, only slight criticism was few places to hang towels but you could get them changed if they didn’t dry. All in all a great place!"

"Overall we enjoyed our stay at Portou House. Our room was on the top floor. There was some hanging space but not a lot of storage other than one drawer. The bed was really comfortable and toiletries and a hairdryer were peovided. The room would benefit from soundproofing as there was a bit of noise from a nearby restaurant, however this did not spoil our stay. The rooms are in a great location. We would definitely return. "

"Gorgeous property in the tiny village of Kathiana just 5 minutes from Chania airport. Too nice to stay just one night before flight home next day. Very clean and very friendly staff. Beautifully designed and decorated suites. Left before breakfast served but the staff made sure we had tea and coffee to go. It should be noted that it is in the middle of nowhere but that is part of the charm. Ordered take out pizza that was excellent. Highly recommend especially before a flight out."
