Discover wild frontier history and Apache legends alongside breathtaking mountains and stunning canyons surrounding southern Arizona’s cultural hub.

Flanked by the dramatic purple and orange landscape of the Huachuca Mountains, Sierra Vista is set in some of Arizona’s most beautiful scenery. The city is a modern cultural and commercial hub in southern Arizona and its surrounding region is infused with a rich heritage, from ancient Apache settlements to wild tales of the Old West and buffalo soldiers. The surrounding region has a number of different ecosystems to explore, including rugged canyons, dry lakes and mountain ranges.

Visit downtown Sierra Vista to experience the city’s lively cultural scene. Enjoy diverse festivals and events, such as the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in February. Attend Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra concerts and various events and performances hosted by the Art Discovery Series and Veterans’ Park. Take in some local military and frontier history at Fort Huachuca and its associated museums.

Explore Sierra Vista’s surrounding area. Visit vineyards or stop by Fairbank, a ghost town. Go hiking, cycling or horseback riding through the Huachuca Mountains, the Coronado National Forest, the San Pedro National Riparian Conservation Area and the Ramsey Canyon Preserve. Enjoy stunning nature trails and catch a glimpse of rare and beautiful bird species.

The Huachuca Mountains and the awe-inspiring “sky islands” that peak the ranges make for an unforgettable Arizona experience. See pictographs made by Native Americans thousands of years ago in the mountain range rocks. Take a trip to Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine, a chapel with magnificent valley views.

Reach Sierra Vista by plane to Tucson International Airport or by bus. The city features a convenient local bus system. Explore Sierra Vista’s stunning landscapes by car or with a charter tour. Sierra Vista’s warm and mild year-round temperatures and low rainfall make for ideal hiking and camping conditions, but make sure you are properly prepared for unexpected weather, such as heavy rain or cold snaps, when exploring outside the city.

Maybe they have good housekeepers and/or good management, but it seemed like they were truly trying to provide a ..."
